What is there?
Kagoshima has many lovely sites. From the Kagoshima bay, to Mount Miyanoura, to Sakurajima. Other than natural views, Kagoshima is full of museums, shrines, and ruins. In addition to this there is a mix of sea and inland food like Tobiuo and Satsuma-Imo.

The history
One reason I would love to travel here, is the rich history. From feudalistic Japan to modern Japan, Kagoshima has it all. You can visit the Meiji Restoration Museum, to see how Japan started modernization in 1968. Shining light of the original clan, Satsuma which leaded the modernization. Or the feudalistic Kagoshima castle, which demonstrates the architecture and culture of the times before. Where Shogunate and their Samurai lead the prefecture.
